We are seeking a passionate and experienced Drama Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in West Suffolk starting from September. This role involves teaching students from Year 7 to Year 11, inspiring and engaging the next generation through the power of drama.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver inspiring drama lessons that cater to the needs of all students across Year 7 to Year 11.
- Develop students' understanding of drama, including performance skills, theoretical knowledge, and critical analysis.
- Encourage creativity and self-expression among students while maintaining a balanced and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess and record students' progress, providing feedback and support to foster their academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to integrate drama into a broader curriculum.
- Organise and direct school plays or productions, showcasing the talents and skills of students.
- Stay updated with current developments in drama education and integrate new ideas into the teaching plan.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- PGCE in Drama or English, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching drama to secondary age pupils.
- Strong understanding of the drama curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Creative and dynamic approach to teaching and learning.
