Our client, a leader in healthcare facility management, is seeking a Building Maintenance Engineer or Technician to join their team. As a Building Maintenance Engineer or Technician, you will be part of the Engineering and Technical Services supporting maintenance and repair operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, patience, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Building Maintenance Engineer or Technician Location: Eureka, CA Pay Range: $35/hr. - $38/hr. What's the Job? Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components. Inspect and review building and industrial systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards. Manage work orders by estimating time and materials needed, maintaining inventory of supplies and tools. Operate company-issued vehicles responsibly to travel between various healthcare facility locations within Humboldt County. Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives, fostering a safe and efficient work environment. What's Needed? High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant experience. EPA certification preferred, with a valid driver's license required. Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs. or more. Knowledge of HVAC systems, basic Microsoft Office skills, and experience with CMMS systems. Willingness to adapt to new solutions and exercise sound judgment based on multiple sources of information.
