26018*Description*The Lead Child Development Center Teacher 2 (Lead Teacher 2), under thesupervision of the Child Development Center Manager, is responsible forplanning and implementing individualized programs for infants, toddlers, andpreschoolers. Key duties include creating lesson plans, conducting childdevelopment programs, and holding parent conferences. The role may involveworking in various classroom settings, including mobile classrooms. The LeadTeacher 2 guides curriculum development ensures compliance with Title 22 StateLicensing, Title 5 Program Standards, and NAEYC Accreditation, and conductschildren's assessments using DRDP and other tools. The position requiresmaintaining a safe, healthy environment and collaborating with parents andstaff to coordinate childcare programs. In emergencies, the Lead Teacher 2 will provide first aid as needed. This position in 100% in person, providingdirect services to children. Job location may vary within cities in the SanFernando Valley based on Center locations.This is a limited position that may convert to career.Salary Range: $28.60 - $49.13 Hourly*Qualifications**Required:** Minimum of a child development teacher permit or A.A.degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or related field, orequivalent coursework (12 units) in Child Development or Early Childhood Education and apply for permit within 6 months of hire. Permitsmust be issued by Child Development Permits issued by the California Commissionon Teacher Credentialing.* Pre-employment physical exam and TB clearance.Pre-employment physical exam must state that the individual is physically ableto perform the duties in the Job Description.* Fingerprint screening, criminal record, and child abuseindex clearance, sex offender registry check.* All Early Head Start staff must complete background checksat least every five years that includes, sex offender registry check, State orFBI criminal history check, including fingerprint check, child abuse andneglect state registry check if available in the state of California.* Valid California Driver's license and availabletransportation.* Demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturingteacher-child interactions,* Ability to plan and implement learning experiences thatensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment* Knowledge of child development theory and practices.* Promote children's progress across the standards describedin the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five andapplicable state early learning and development standards, including forchildren with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate. Units:* Experience working with infants/toddlers and their families* Skills in using computer-pc, Microsoft word, excel, andmust type at least 30 words per minute.* Completion and submission of required personnel forms priorto employment.* Ability to respectfully communicate effectively withfamilies, Head Start staff, consultants, other professionals, and volunteers tosupport families in locating and accessing appropriate community services, asneeded.* Ability to provide education and training opportunities tofamilies that promote positive relationship-building for all enrolled pregnantwomen and infants and toddlers and their families. Ability to follow directionsgiven by supervisor(s) in a respectful manner.* Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.* Ability to carry children, up to 40 pounds during eachworkday when necessary.* Ability to engage in frequent bending, reaching, twistingand engage in moderate to frequent kneeling, crawling, and stooping whileperforming classroom activities.* Ability to engage in frequent writing, typing on keyboards,and handling small objects (e.g. arts and crafts for children).* Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time thatmay exceed an hour at a time. This includes sitting on the floor for extendedperiods (e.g. while engaging in child development activities during home visitsand socialization sessions).* Ability to use kitchen utensils and appliances safely forpreparation of snacks (can be trained). *Preferred:** Bi-lingual in English and Spanish* 1-2 Years of experience working with infants/toddlers andtheir families* B.A./A.A.
