Document Controller
We are looking for a meticulous Document Controller for a contract position based in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, organizing, and auditing mortgage documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities:
- Review and validate mortgage loan documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
- Conduct detailed audits of mortgage files to guarantee adherence to federal, state, and organizational regulations.
- Assemble and prepare document packages for underwriting, loan processing, and final loan approvals.
- Monitor compliance by staying informed about current mortgage regulatory requirements and applying them to all documentation.
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies or missing information.
- Upload and manage documents within the company's loan origination software and document management systems.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical records of mortgage files for efficient retrieval and audit readiness.
- Ensure all scanned and compiled documents are properly categorized and accessible for internal and external use.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage document control, loan processing, or a related administrative role within the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in loan origination software and document management systems, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to uphold compliance and accuracy standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with team members and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with mortgage industry regulations and guidelines is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
