Job Overview:
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and installation of HVAC and plumbing systems, including fire suppression and domestic water in the building. Must have completed an apprenticeship program, hold a valid EPA card, and a Certificate of Fitness from the FDNY. The applicant should currently be a member of IUOE Local 30 or be willing to join.
Essential Functions:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of HVAC-R systems, steam systems, pumps, sprinkler, standpipe, kitchen exhaust, and related systems.
- Maintain building domestic water systems, fire suppression systems, and restaurant equipment.
- Adhere to work schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with the team and follow directions from leadership.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years related experience
- Troubleshooting low voltage wiring, controls, and HVAC systems
- Ability to work with high voltage and mechanical equipment
- Proficient in piping, regulations, and codes related to NYC building standards
- Completed apprenticeship and HVAC-R CoF Q-01 or Q-99 certification from FDNY
- Flexible schedule including retail hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, standing, hearing, talking, reaching, crouching, ladder climbing
- Lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Work independently with manual dexterity
- Close and color vision, focus adjustment
