The incumbent of this position will report to the Stockpiles Unit within the Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Minimum Qualifications:
NON-COMPETITIVE
Six years of experience in planning, directing, or coordinating transportation, storage, supply chain management, distribution or logistics activities. This must have included experience operating a forklift. Applicants must be physically able to lift/move items weighing 50 or more pounds.
Substitution:
A bachelor's degree may be substituted for up to four years of experience; OR An associates degree may be substituted for up to two years; OR 30 semester credit hours may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of four years.
Additional Comments:
NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
Operating Needs:
Possession of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required. Ability to bend, lift, climb and to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Successful completion of OSHA forklift training and certification within 90 days of appointment. Flexibility to work in environments of fluctuating temperatures including limited periods outside, year-round. Work schedule may vary based on operational needs.
