JOB SUMMARY This role involves serving customers by hand-building product pallets and loading them onto trailers in accordance with company and customer standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reading pick sheets and navigating to warehouse locations using a pallet jack.
- Picking the correct product type and quantity, labeling them, and loading onto pallets for trailer transport.
- Ensuring products are handled according to food safety procedures, including visual inspections for damages and proper arrangement to minimize cross-contamination.
- Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment; addressing spills or damaged products, and ensuring proper disposal of trash and recyclables.
- Communicating any product, safety, or food safety issues to management.
- Operating warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks, adhering to company standards.
- Reporting equipment issues to management.
- Completing paperwork and utilizing a wearable computer for productivity tracking.
- Demonstrating regular attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Preferred 6 months of warehouse experience or equivalent work experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Forklift and pallet jack certification.
Professional Skills:
- Knowledge of safe lifting procedures and food safety guidelines.
- Skill in building pallets of products efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks in confined spaces.
- Capability to meet productivity standards set by the company.
- Effective communication in English regarding job functions and safety regulations.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding and carrying out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment such as safety shoes.
Physical Demand
Physical requirements include regular standing, walking, and hand usage; lifting and moving 50 to 90 pounds; and specific vision abilities for various tasks.
Work Environment
Expect exposure to varying temperatures, moving mechanical parts, elevated spaces, and loud noise levels.
