POSTING of VACANCYTeaching & Learning SpecialistOffice of Teaching & Learning2025-2026 School Year The Falmouth Public Schools is pleased to announce the Teaching & Learning Specialist opportunity. The successful candidate will engage in a two-year appointment to this role. Qualifications:
  • Professional Massachusetts Teaching License, any area, any grade level required
  • Master's Degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, any level K - 12 required
  • Current educator evaluation rating of proficiency or exemplary required
  • Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development, standards, assessments, differentiated instruction, and successful teaching experiences with students of all abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency with digital design and communication tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Such other qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate
Opportunity: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to exercise an alternate route to administrative licensure and earn an initial license as Supervisor/Director as a result of this experience without enrolling in coursework or specialized programming. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, the Teaching & Learning Specialist will provide a teacher voice to and support in the development and implementation of standards-based curriculum, instruction, assessment, and interventions. Working directly with colleagues, including fellow teachers, specialists, support staff, and administrators, the Teaching & Learning Specialist will aide the development, alignment, review, refinement, and communication of designated curricula.
  • Manage the implementation of the New Teacher Induction and Mentoring;
  • Assist in the maintenance of data systems for the monitoring of student performance, achievement, and growth over time;
  • Access, analyze, and respond to trends in student assessment data;
  • Assist teachers with horizontal and vertical articulation of curriculum frameworks and instructional programs;
  • Assist with organization of curriculum activities and facilitation of ongoing curriculum initiatives;
  • Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of special projects;
  • Assist with the coordination and/or the facilitation of professional development;
  • Update Teaching & Learning web pages with adherence to accessibility guidelines;
  • Assist in the development of and provide feedback regarding curriculum documents;
  • Research and recommend instructional strategies, interventions, and various tools to aid the instructional process based upon best practices;
  • Assist with the overall evaluation of curriculum programs and develop strategies for growth;
  • Remain current with new developments in teaching and learning through readings, conferences, and other means of professional learning as well as disseminate information to colleagues in a timely manner;
  • Complete summer professional development and curricular leadership;
  • Attend and engage in the Instructional Leadership Team;
  • Engage with colleagues and community members about current as well as new initiatives; and
  • Conduct other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Assistant Superintendent.
