Shift: Days/Nights – 12-hour shifts (weekends & holidays as required)
Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5–1:6
Patient Population: Adults & geriatrics with post-op, medical, and chronic care needs
Required:
Active RN License (state-specific, unrestricted)
BLS Certification (AHA)
Preferred:
ACLS, NIHSS (depending on facility/unit)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience
Familiarity with spine/ortho post-op, wound care, and telemetry monitoring
Prior travel experience preferred, but not always required
Provide direct nursing care for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, document findings in EMR.
Administer medications, start/maintain IVs, and provide wound care.
Support pre-op and post-op patients, including spine and orthopedic cases.
Take and interpret vital signs, monitor for changes, and report abnormalities.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
Educate patients and families on care, medications, and discharge instructions.
Maintain infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
Float to units of equal or lesser acuity when required.

Guaranteed Hours: Typically 36 per week (varies by facility)
