Unit Details
- Beds/Chairs: 4-station Dialysis Suite, plus inpatient bedside dialysis (ER, ICU, CCU, etc.)
- Average Census:
- Dialysis Suite: ~12 patients/day
- Bedside Dialysis: ~9–10 patients/day
- Individual Workload: Max 3 patients/day (each dialysis session ~3 hours)
- Common Diagnoses: Acute & Chronic Dialysis (adults only)
- Equipment: Fresenius AT 2000 – Bluestar, Portable WRH
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: 1 year of dialysis experience (acute or chronic; please specify type)
- Preferred: Both acute & chronic dialysis experience (inpatient + outpatient)
- Preferred Background: ICU or PCU experience
Job Duties
- Cannulation & de-cannulation of fistulas and dialysis catheters
- Testing, maintaining, and disinfecting dialysis machines
- Administering dialysis treatments (acute & chronic)
- Floating throughout hospital to administer inpatient dialysis
Support & Supervision
- Manager/Supervisor: Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator (ANCC) available on each shift
- Main ACC Contact: Gigi (primary resource)
- Tech Support: No techs currently; hiring in progress
Shifts & Scheduling
- Shift Lengths: 12-hour shifts (8:00–8:30 or 9:00–9:30)
- Scheduling: Posted monthly; travelers expected to be flexible to cover staffing gaps
- Weekend Requirement: Every other Saturday
- Holiday Requirement: None
- Call/Standby: None for travelers
Orientation
- Orientation: 2 classroom days + 1 preceptor day
