Responsibilities Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit on night shifts (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) Patient ratios up to 1:6 Will float to other Med/Surg units, ICU, and ED holding areas for Med/Surg patients as needed Handles a mix of post-surgical and medical patients requiring telemetry and specialized care Every other weekend required No call requirement Holiday shifts as assigned, with no holiday PTO requests allowed Responsible for a broad range of bedside nursing skills including post-surgical care and complex medication administration Expected to complete modules during orientation and annually, which are self-reported Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments Must be available the first 8 days of the assignment Return staff eligible after a 6-month break No local radius restrictions; local candidates accepted at the same rate Requirements Active Michigan RN license required Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med/Surg or PCU experience Strong post-surgical competencies Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications Proficient with telemetry remote monitoring, wound care/wound vac, colostomy care, feeding tube care, tracheostomy management, starting IVs, and blood product administration Experience with pre- and post-hemodialysis management, accessing ports, PICC line management, surgical drains, chest tubes, high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen therapy, insulin, heparin, PCA, and isolation precautions Proof of Flu vaccination required or exemption request submitted within 48 hours of contract signing References required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612092.
