Overview
A client is looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer who will collaborate with other developers and designers to help define, build, and deliver new features in our Sports mobile apps.
Position Details
- Position: Senior Android Software Engineer
- Location: New York, NY 10003 (REMOTE)
- Pay Rate: $60/hr - $70/hr on W2 (depending on experience)
- Duration: 12 months or longer
- Hours: 1st shift, M-F, 40 hrs/week
- Preferred Time Zone: EST & PST
- This is a Remote position
Interview and Assessments
- Interview Process: 2-3 rounds of interviews (including coding test)
- Coding test: Required (80% and above)
- Screening Questionnaire: Required
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with other developers and designers to help define, build, and deliver new features in our Sports mobile apps
- Code -- spend time building Android apps, coding in Java / Kotlin. Includes new feature development, architecture, writing unit tests, refactors, and bug/crash fixes
- Share responsibilities like app architecture/design reviews, code reviews, performance tuning, and build pipeline management
- Own and deliver from executing difficult refactors to planning complex projects with many moving parts
Key projects
- Clients Fantasy Sports feature development on Android
Must-have skills/qualifications
- Solid coding chops, design skills, and mobile development best practices object-oriented design principles, design patterns, modular and reusable code, data structures, concurrency, performance profiling and tuning
- Expertise in Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, git
- Up-to-date on Android best practices such as Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows, DI with Hilt/Dagger
- Experience with Android app architectures - MVI, MVP, MVVM
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
- 5-10 years in shipping high quality Android apps
