The American Red Cross seeks an experienced Full Stack Lead - Microsoft Technologies to join our Humanitarian Services IT team in supporting applications that help deliver ARC's mission delivery to support disaster response and relief, service to the armed forces and their families, and our international mission. We work directly with mission partners on the discovery, design, development, and ongoing enhancement of our digital product portfolio.

The work location for this opportunity is 100% virtual. The selected candidate will work remotely from home on an East Coast schedule (8am - 5pm core hours). Because the position supports the Disaster Cycles Support team, IT application support after hours and on weekends may be required during major disasters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development aspects of IT projects for humanitarian missions, including analysis, enhancement, installation, testing, and modification of technology solutions. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/service designers, business analysts, and business owners to clarify, prioritize, and document user stories, scenarios, personas, and problems to be solved for development readiness.
  • Lead a team of developers and provide coaching to ensure success.
  • Prepare activity and progress reports for projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Manage vendor partnerships for outsourced projects and support work.
  • Migrate legacy applications to cloud-first and API-first architectures leveraging multiple technologies.
  • Convert user stories into technical designs and prototypes.

Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge to understand needs and apply skills.

Qualifications (minimum)
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • At least 6 years of Microsoft Full Stack Development Experience.
  • At least 2 years of Lead or solution architecture experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure AI / Cognitive Services / Azure OpenAI.
  • Experience managing agile development teams, including sprint planning, user story estimation, prioritization, scrum-based leadership, and retrospectives.
  • Ability to collaborate with business-led product teams and stakeholders to drive mission outcomes.
  • Experience in API design, implementation, and/or operations.
  • Experience in .NET development using Entity Framework, web services, and SOA concepts.
  • Experience with Git, Confluence, and JIRA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to explain system design and architecture.
Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications)
  • Architect and implement solutions leveraging Azure cloud services (App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB).
  • Integrate and optimize solutions with Azure AI services (Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Language Studio).

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $130K - $150K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Salaries are aligned to geographic location. Other factors may affect the actual salary. Salary information will be reviewed at the time of phone screening based on location and experience. This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
