Adult & Children Clinical Intake Specialist $2500 retention bonus

This position is eligible for a $2500 retention bonus.

Job Summary:

The Providence Center is seeking an Adult & Children Clinical Intake Specialist to assess and evaluate new or returning clients' mental health and substance use conditions, determine service needs, and link clients to appropriate services. The role involves establishing psychiatric diagnoses, collecting sufficient data for case formulation, and developing initial treatment plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform evaluations, diagnosis, intake, assessment, crisis intervention, client education, and referrals.
  • Maintain flexibility regarding assessment locations and age demographics.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
  • Treat consumers with respect and professionalism, especially during crises.
  • Apply knowledge of DSM IV, ASAM criteria, Motivational Interviewing, and Recovery-Based practices.
  • Perform mental status examinations and assess clinical emergencies such as suicidality or homicidal risk.
  • Complete DLA assessments and understand Health Home criteria.
  • Gather pertinent data from collateral sources respecting confidentiality guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to policies and legal standards.
  • Develop and communicate clinical formulations verbally and in writing, incorporating behavioral data, psychosocial, and family issues.
  • Utilize psychiatric consultation and intervention when appropriate.
  • Decide on appropriate levels of care and facilitate referrals within the continuum of care.
  • Document records in compliance with health information standards.
  • Complete initial assessments within 24 hours of intake and handle insurance documentation and reports.
  • Follow office procedures cooperatively and collaborate with other providers and agencies.
  • Stay informed about mental health and substance abuse resources in the community.
  • Communicate effectively with agencies, staff, and consumers.
  • Participate in trainings, case presentations, and educational programs.
  • Maintain relationships with staff, consumers, and community partners.
  • Maintain knowledge of all adult & child programs to ensure proper consumer assignment.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors, addressing issues constructively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

    • Masters degree in social work or relevant clinical experience.
    • Experience in clinical assessments preferred.
    • LICSW/LMHC preferred; licensure eligibility required.
    • Strong report writing and communication skills.
    • Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required.
    • Must have insured auto and a valid drivers license.
