About the opportunity
Mathematica's Health Unit seeks an Executive Director for our Evaluation & Data Collection (EDC) Practice, an important market within the Health Unit providing both deep evaluation expertise and survey data collection capabilities to longstanding federal clients that include the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) as well as other federal agencies. Mathematicas EDC work is known for its pairing of deep methodological skill, rigor, and data knowledge with subject matter expertise, regularly using cutting-edge methods in the work. The Executive Director for EDC will promote efficient, digitally focused solutions while maintaining our excellent reputation in top-notch evaluation and data collection. The Executive Director for EDC reports to the Senior Vice President for the Health Policy Assessment division.
Mathematicas current EDC practice comprises more than 120 professionals. These staff represent a wide variety of disciplines, methods expertise, and policy knowledge, including economics, statistics, health services research, epidemiology, sociology, survey methods and research, and clinical backgrounds, among others. Among our staff, cutting-edge methods expertise and clear exposition of findings and their policy implications is particularly valued.
The Executive Director for EDC should have substantial policy experience, a strong research and evaluation background, business strategy experience, and significant project delivery experience with federal clients such as CMS and SSA. The executive should have a track record and demonstrated ability to build business and lead groups of professionals in a dynamic environment and to meet changing client needs. Mathematica is seeking someone who can evolve and expand an existing and well-respected practice. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction and operational oversight to help Mathematica win and execute complex, high profile evaluations, data collection, and analytics. In addition, the Executive Director must possess a comfort level operating with other executives in the healthcare environment to externally represent Mathematica.
