The Quality team is dedicated to implementing a culture and practice of excellence throughout the entire value chain of the organization, to increase customer satisfaction and improve profitability in a sustainable way. ABB ELSP empowers smarter business operations by connecting equipment, software, and services to protect, control, and optimize assets within electrical infrastructures. Across multiple energy-intensive industries, the business provides customers with end-to-end product and service solutions that help ensure the reliability and protection of their electrical infrastructure.

The role is located in Mebane, North Carolina, and as a Manufacturing Quality-Tester, you will be responsible for verifying the quality of work in functions such as incoming inspection, fabrication, assembly, and wiring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physical pre-testing activities for newly developed products to ensure product quality and validate manufacturing processes.
  • Assist the team in performing all required checks as part of the Factory Acceptance Testing process.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate testing records, data, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
  • Qualifications for the role
    • Associate Degree in a technical or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college, with a focus in electronics or electrical systems, or 2 years of experience with electrical/electronics testing.
    • Experience using computers, including Microsoft Office applications like Excel and Word, and web applications.
    • Desired experience in ERPs and quality management systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and models.
    • Skilled in using hand tools and measurement equipment.
    • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Initiative, teamwork, flexibility, and attention to detail.
    • Must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
