The Material Handler (Water Spider) is responsible for supporting production flow by transporting wax patterns and assemblies from the Wax department to the Shell department. This role ensures materials are delivered, staged, and replenished on time, maintaining smooth workflow and adherence to company quality and safety standards.
Essential Job Functions:
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Production Supervisors, Department Leads, and other plant personnel to support material flow.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 35 pounds independently.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
Repetitive motion required in material handling and transport tasks.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling environment.
Prior experience with lean manufacturing or water spider roles strongly desired.
Ability to become forklift certified.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn production tracking systems.
