Overview

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is looking for an experienced Office Engineer to join our Team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm. The Office Engineer will provide essential technical and administrative support to the projects construction management team. This role is responsible for managing the flow of technical documentation, maintaining accurate project records, and ensuring that contractual and procedural requirements are met. The Office Engineer will also act as a key liaison between the Construction Contractors, the Design Compliance Team, and the Construction Compliance Team to facilitate the timely processing of submittals, RFIs, and other critical project communications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide technical engineering information to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Processing and reviewing invoices on PDMS and maintain payment and calculation books with the necessary data and backup.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
  • Manage and maintain project files, records, submittals and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit reports, including progress reports, project status reports, and financial reports.
  • Coordinate and track project correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes.
  • Assist in the preparation of the project closeout documents and final reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Facilitate meetings, including project meetings, progress meetings, and status updates.
  • Coordinate, take minutes and write minutes, within three days of technical, progress and other meetings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
To Be Successful
  • PDMS is required for DDC
  • Must have 5+ years of experience including office engineering/construction inspection of infrastructure projects specifically sewers, water mains, and highways.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management from an accredited college or a NICET Level 4.
  • Familiarity with NYC DDC, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • OSHA Safety and Health, 10-hour
