Lead Full Stack Engineer

The Investment Engineering team develops Portfolio Management and Trading capabilities that support Apollo's complex and unique strategies. Embedded with portfolio managers and traders, the group partners cross-functionally to design and deliver the infrastructure required for effective execution and investment management.

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to join our New York office, working directly with the Credit Trading Desk. This individual will collaborate with investment professionals and stakeholders to deliver scalable technology solutions. The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, ensuring the business has the tools and platforms needed for efficient decision-making and execution.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the full development lifecycle, from design and coding to implementation and architecture.
• Deliver high-quality solutions quickly using Agile methods.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, development, testing, and production support.
• Mentor team members and contribute to design discussions and code reviews.
• Adapt to shifting priorities with a forward-looking, problem-solving mindset.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and business partners to deliver impactful solutions.
• Ensure robust data governance and high standards of data quality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, business administration, or related field required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in technology, with at least 5+ years working in a trading environment.
• Proven track record of building and deploying trading software in production.
• Broad experience with trading technologies across asset classes.
• Deep expertise in transaction cost analysis, P&L attribution, risk factor modeling, and order routing strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong initiative, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experienced leader with a collaborative approach and ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.

Pay Range $190,000 $250,000
