**Job Overview**
United Trades of America is looking for **Mechanical Apprentices** with 2-6 years of experience in the industrial field to assist with the installation of pre-fabricated machinery at our project site in Mt. Vernon, IL. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with pipe cutting, steel assembly, and the installation of industrial supports. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Pipe Cutting and Preparation:** Measure, cut, and prepare pipes for installation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. - **Support Installation:** Hang supports for industrial equipment and ensure structural integrity. - **Steel Assembly:** Bolt steel components together, ensuring precise alignment and secure connections. - **Machinery Installation:** Assist in positioning and installing pre-fabricated machinery according to blueprints and instructions. - **Troubleshooting:** Perform basic problem-solving and adjustments as needed during the installation process. - **Safety Compliance:** Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of PPE, and participate in daily safety meetings or inspections.
**Qualifications**
- **Experience:** 2-6 years in the industrial field, with a focus on mechanical installations. - **Technical Skills:** - Proficiency in pipe cutting and handling. - Experience with bolting and steel assembly. - Knowledge of basic mechanical tools and processes. - **Tools and Equipment:** - Must have basic tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) for the job. - Familiarity with power tools and industrial machinery is a plus. - **Physical Requirements:** - Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and remain on your feet for extended periods. - Comfortable working in industrial and outdoor environments. - **Work Ethic:** Punctuality, reliability, and strong attention to detail are essential.
**Work Environment and Conditions**
- Project involves working in industrial settings with potential exposure to varying weather conditions. - Daily tasks may require climbing ladders, working at heights, and performing physically demanding activities. - Some weekend or extended-hour shifts may be required to meet project timelines.
