About the Opportunity:
The Office of the Registrar ( is dedicated to providing service of the highest caliber to all of our constituents - current and former students, faculty, administrative staff, and the general public.
Responsibilities:
The University Scheduler (US) is a part of a team of schedulers who provide the full complement of managing space requirements and assignments for all courses and academic and non-academic events. The US assists with the preparation of the academic schedule for all academic semesters as well as the assignment of classrooms for final exams and make-up exams. This position is also responsible for scheduling and coordinating University space in support of non-instructional University events and provides event scheduling advice to university organizations and departments. The Scheduler, in conjunction with team members, will assist and serve as a resource in the coordination of major University Events. The University Scheduler provides practical support for University users in the implementation of the University's 25Live scheduling software and coordination of interactions with other departments.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associate's degree or record equivalent combination of education and experience
3-5 years of relevant experience; experience scheduling/event planning in higher education preferable; Specialized experience in curriculum support (course information and academic scheduling) is highly desirable particularly in an institution like Brown.

Computer proficiency including a demonstrated understanding and ability to work with complex scheduling software, relational databases and web-based technologies. Individuals with knowledge and/or experience with 25Live considered a plus.
Ability to navigate and function at high level with complex student information system (Banner preferred) and the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of the curriculum module and relationship with room scheduling application.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications as well as ability to run and analyze reports related to job functions (IBM Cognos ReportNet)
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to explain decisions and policies in terms accessible to the audience.

During the Academic Year, the Registrar's Office operates on a hybrid (three days in the office, two days at home) schedule. During the Summer, members of the office can elect to work up to four days a week at home. Some exceptions due to high volume times apply.
