ABOUT THE ROLE This position entails the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment within an industrial plant. The successful candidate will ensure the proper functioning of various plant tools and machinery, troubleshoot electrical issues, and conduct necessary repairs.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Install electrical equipment and components such as conductors, instrumentation, lighting, motors, controls, wiring, relays, transformers, and conduit in compliance with the National Electric Code.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems systematically to identify failures and implement repair solutions.
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance and Repairs (PMR) for electrical systems and instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings.
- Calibrate and adjust electrical and electronic equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize the SAP system to document work progress, communicate status, and identify support needed for completion.
- Perform annual ground resistance testing.
- Handle basic Preventive Maintenance on HVAC and Compressed Air Drying equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures, using appropriate tools and equipment for all tasks.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations to ensure safe working conditions.
- Be available for call-outs during non-work hours if necessary.
- Assist in estimating material requirements and preparing requisitions for needed supplies.
- Commit to promoting and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work settings.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Associate's degree or completion of a Technical School and Apprenticeship program, or equivalent experience and training.
- Working knowledge of NEC code, electrical standards, PLCs, AC and DC drives, motors, and their controls.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in electrical maintenance and support.
- Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA safety requirements related to electrical operations.
- Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable record and be willing to travel to various sites.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and nights when required.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and properly use approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face.
