Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Machine complex tooling and fixtures working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design

• Engineering

• Perform secondary operations on production units by using manual multi axis millers and lathes,

• manual drill presses, shears, saws, etc.

• Set-up and run manual machine shop equipment including multi axis millers and lathes, manual

• drill presses, shears, saws, etc.

• Set-up and operate surface grinding machines.

• Work from drawings, prints, and / or work instructions.

• Develop, fabricate, and sharpen various cutting tools and specialty tools.

• Inspect GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) features using basic and advanced

• inspection techniques.

• Cut open welded units to complete production operations.

• Assist shop management in training shop employees in common machine shop practices and

• company specific processes and procedures.

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High mechanical aptitude

• Knows how to read blueprints

• Proficiency in trigonometry

• Working knowledge of computers.

• Understand the mechanics of chip formation and metal cutting.

• Knowledge of ANSI/EIA RS - 274 ('G' code NC programs)

• High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution

• 3+ years experience in trade as a tool maker.

• Experience or formal education in design/drafting with emphasis on CAD

• Resides within a reasonable commuting distance.

• US person within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a US person as a US Citizen, US

• Permanent resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee

• Preferred:

• AS in technical field.
