Job Description

The Intermediate Care unit (IMCU) is a pivotal component of our healthcare system, providing step-down care for patients who require more specialized attention than a standard medical-surgical unit. This role involves delivering exceptional, evidence-based care to adult acute care patients transitioning from various departments such as the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring for patients.
• Manage airway support, BIPAP, arterial and central lines.
• Administer titrated medicated IV infusions as per patient needs.
• Adapt quickly to changing clinical situations, promoting a vigilant and compassionate care approach.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a current NY RN license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in a similar setting.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Ability to float as needed between ICU and MS units.
