Registered Nurse (RN) – CCU/ICU

Location: New YorkContract Type: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)Schedule: [Insert shift details – Days/Nights, Hours, Weekends, etc.]

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses, and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, United Health Services policies, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment that supports patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
  • Serve as a primary and/or accountable nurse based on unit assignment and patient needs.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease management, and available resources.
  • Administer medications safely in accordance with United Health Services policies.
  • Manage productivity and resources effectively, including staffing, time, and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies.
  • Actively participate in shared governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
  • Pursue continuing education and professional development; complete all mandatory education.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and nursing research into care delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and support for new employees and students.
  • Demonstrate commitment to United Health Services' core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience.
  • Up to 3 years of management experience.
  • 5+ years of direct patient care experience preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, communication (verbal & written), and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, problem-solving, and time management.
  • Knowledge of safety and risk management standards.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Education
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications & Licensure
  • Required:
    • Current NYS RN License.
    • BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
    • Compliance with unit-specific requirements.
  • Preferred:
    • Professional certification in a related specialty.
    • ACLS, PALS, TNCC, or other unit-specific certifications.
