Operate computerized telephone console; answer incoming calls; route calls to proper departments as needed Adhere to patient privacy policies at all times Enter changes/updates to shifts and on-call schedules as needed by phone or secure chat, contact interns and residents for outside calls, units and codes. Announce codes properly, notify fire department, police and appropriate hospital personnel, disaster drill and bomb threat drill. Assists concierge when needed Contacts Hospitalist Physicians for admissions and consults Requirements: Knowledge of MS Office products (word, Outlook); strong communication skills and ability to multi-task. Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations Must be able to operate a telephone answering console (switchboard)\ High School Graduate or equivalent Typing necessary At least one year, console experience preferred.
