Location

Based in the Tristate New York Area working across multiple hospitality properties managed by Palette.

Position Summary

As Corporate HR Manager, you will lead HR operations across a portfolio of hotels with a focus on Tristate area locations, balancing strategic portfolio-level leadership with hands-on hotel support, while fostering effective employee relations in diverse and complex labor and regulatory environments.

  • Lead HR across a portfolio of properties, partnering with hotel general managers, department heads, and corporate team members.
  • Uphold compliance with labor laws, compliance, and hotel brand standards.
  • Champion Palette's mission to cultivate the full potential of our hotels and team by fostering a people-first culture that empowers employees to deliver best-in-class hospitality.
  • Provide mentorship to HR generalists.

Core Responsibilities

HR Operations & Workplace Matters

  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, transfers, offboarding, and performance management at designated location.
  • Manage sensitive workplace issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, grievance procedures, and complex workforce dynamics.

Benefits, Payroll & Compliance

  • Manage benefits enrollment, leave administration (FMLA, PFL, NYC-specific), PTO tracking, payroll accuracy, and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local labor laws, workplace regulations, and collective workforce requirements.

HR Strategy & Engagement

  • Implement and facilitate employee training and development programs that support performance improvement and career growth.
  • Foster a people-first culture that drives growth, supports retention, and enhances the overall employee experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • The role will report directly to the Director of HR, ensuring alignment with company-wide HR practices, policies, and compliance standards.
  • The Corporate HR Manager will partner closely with the Regional Director of Operations as a co-leader for the assigned hotel portfolio, aligning HR strategy with property performance, culture, and operational goals.
  • In addition, the Corporate HR Manager will also collaborate with the executive team-including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and other senior leaders-to support compliance, workforce planning, and sustainable growth, particularly during hotel acquisitions and transitions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience as an HR Manager within hospitality in New York City hotel environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll software, and talent management tools.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills; ability to advise leadership at multiple properties.

Position Details

  • Full‑time, locally to the Tristate New York area with visits to hotels in the portfolio
  • Occasional extended hours or weekend support
  • Ability to travel
