Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)Location

This position is available in a facility located in the United States.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts include rotations for Day, Night, and Holiday schedules - working three 12-hour shifts and two on-call shifts per four weeks.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, implements interventions, and evaluates patient progress.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient assessments and identifies priorities of care according to established Triage Standards.
• Evaluates and documents physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients across all age groups.
• Builds rapport with patients and families and addresses comfort needs, ensuring effective communication.
• Utilizes various assessment tools and observation techniques to determine necessary interventions.
• Prepares patients and families for diagnostic procedures and provides discharge instructions.
• Maintains awareness of patient conditions throughout their visit and updates care communication boards accordingly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (Must be AHA or RQI certified).
• Two years of acute hospital experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year in an Emergency Department setting.
