One of the country's fastest growing Biotechnology companies is searching for an R&D Scientist to join their laboratory team onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, focused on developing tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience in immunology, mass spectrometry, and/or clinical diagnostics.

Responsibilities:
- Executes experiments and processes clinical samples efficiently, adhering to all procedures and documenting findings in scientific lab notebooks.
- Prepares and organizes specimens, plans and performs a range of laboratory tests, and demonstrates deep understanding of test methodologies and quality control best practices.
- Collaborates closely with lab leadership, assisting in specimen analysis, reviewing and interpreting results, and preparing test reports in partnership with the supervisor or lab director.
- Supports scientific operations through reagent preparation, preventative instrument maintenance, and effective troubleshooting, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and meet quality standards.
- Contributes to SOP development and scientific documentation, keeps workflows compliant with safety requirements, and proactively addresses any hazards.
- Plays an active role in onboarding and training new staff, fosters a collaborative and productive team environment, and communicates effectively with colleagues across all levels.
- Maintains scientific curiosity by staying up-to-date with relevant literature, continuously advancing lab skills, and helping optimize experimental design.
- Demonstrates strong multitasking abilities, independently managing daily workload, balancing multiple projects, and ensuring the lab runs smoothly.
Skills:
- 5+ years' experience in Immunology, Mass Spectrometry, or closely related field
- Bachelor's in Biology/Chemistry/Biochemistry required
- Hands-on expertise in assay development or clinical diagnostics (highly preferred)
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Strong collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven setting
