Data Visualization Analyst

The Data Visualization Analyst will lead the effort to analyze and model client data for internal marketing, sales, finance, and operational groups. This position designs, develops and supports ad-hoc and long-term data visualization solutions primarily using MS Power BI, for advanced decision-making. Part of a dynamic and fast-moving team supporting critical information needs across the entire enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Understand user requirements and design efficient business intelligence models by transforming raw data from multiple sources into flat files for analysis.

Including data import from external sources and data warehouses.

Develop and publish interactive visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards from the transformed data using Microsoft Power BI Desktop, and MS Power BI within Dynamics 365, to support user information requirements.

Present visualizations in a consistent format using intuitive and user-friendly design constraints that facilitate decision making.

Create and manage a design standard for visualizations including formatting, appearance, access control, and security.

Evaluate large amounts of historical and current internal and market data to identify trends and opportunities for revenue growth and margin expansion.

Work as part of a team during Dynamics 365 Implementation to ensure data integrity and master data governance.

Support data mining requests of limited duration and clear deliverables.

Interfaces primarily with Operations and Sales & Marketing Teams, but work cross functionally with IT, Finance, and other departments.

Required Skills, Education and Experience

Proven ability to assemble and transform large amounts of data from various sources and inconsistent formats.

Knowledge of data transformation tools and best-practices is a requirement.

Successful history of creating and managing data models and visualizations using MS Power BI. Examples required.

Experience with enterprise ERP systems, ideally Dynamics 365 F&O and CE, strongly desired.

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate within cross-functional team as well as independent work.

Ability to communicate and work across all levels of the organization and with users possessing varying degrees of technical proficiency.

Strong analytical thinker, organized, accurate and demonstrated ability to identify trends in large data operations; knowledge of B2B and chemical material markets a plus.

General business acumen and excellent communication skills.

Business or financial training a plus.

Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and initiatives to meet desired deadlines.

Education:

Bachelors Degree (S.T.E.M.) or Data Science with a minimum (3) years of relevant work experience required.

Proficiency in Power BI (DAX Queries, Data Visualization, Gateways, Content, Packs, Connectors)

Knowledge of M, R or Python programming languages

Must have experience in SQL server, Performance Tuning, Visual Studio, SSIS, Stored Procedures etc.
