Lab Technician
: Job Details :

As a Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of products through precise testing and documentation. This position requires navigating a plant environment to collect liquid samples and performing various tests to ensure compliance with FDA and plant standards.

Responsibilities:

• Navigate plant environment to obtain liquid samples from silos following FDA and plant standards.
• Test samples for PH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid/fat percentages using lab equipment and instruments.
• Document all findings meticulously with dates and signatures while maintaining a clean lab environment to prevent contamination.
• Ensure lab supplies are refilled and equipment is calibrated daily, adhering to FDA and plant standards.
• Multitask efficiently, including receiving phone calls from the dairy and various parts of the plant, to ensure products and samples meet specifications.

Essential Skills:

• BS in technical sciences.
• 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to document and review quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with quality assurance, quality control, and lab instrumentation.
• Knowledge in chemistry, laboratory procedures, biology, GMP, microbiology, QC, titration, inspection, analytical chemistry, and data entry.

Work Environment:

This position is onsite at the Elma facility, working in a manufacturing environment. Available shifts include the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm and the 3rd shift from 10pm to 6:30am. Flexibility is required as shifts may extend to 12 hours based on production and staffing needs, including potential 6-day workweeks.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elma, New York.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $22.75 - $23.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
