Food Handler (Less Than 19 Hours/Week) Mobile Meals Akron, OH

General Statement Of Duties: To serve a quality meal to clients of Mobile Meals, Inc.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Reading comprehension for following directions, record-keeping and reporting.
  • Capable of utilizing basic math and record-keeping in daily reporting.
  • Maintain all records accurately, counting, reporting, meal ordering and weekly bank deposits, submitting same weekly and monthly to main office.
  • Heat, portion control and serve meals according to sanitation procedures.
  • Follow all sanitation and safety rules for handling food (i.e., food samples, temperatures, safe serve, dining areas and maintenance of equipment).
  • Portion and pack home-delivered meals as approved by the agency.
  • Maintain and order inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attend required scheduled training/meetings, on and off the worksite.
  • Respond to food concerns discreetly and report same to supervisor.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
  • Represent Mobile Meals positively to the community.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative and accountable work environment.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Reading comprehension skills.
    • Basic math skills.
    • Previous basic record-keeping experience and capable of performing same.
    • Ability to follow instructions.
    • Verbal communication skills.
    • Neat and clean appearance.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Depending on worksite, valid Ohio Driver's License and insurance to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Ohio may be required.
    • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation) if applicable.

    Minimum Educational/Licensure Requirements: High School equivalency preferred. Must have or willing to take and pass a Safe Serve Level 2 certification.

    Minimum Experience Requirements: Experience working in food service preferred.

    Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, twist, carry and transfer pans of food (maximum 30#). Ability to bend over sinks for intermittent periods of time to wash pans and do general cleanup.
