We are partnering with an exclusive, ultra-luxury private golf club and residential community to identify an experienced Controller to lead its finance and accounting team. Position Overview
The Controller will oversee all financial operations of the club and residences, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance while supporting the property's long-term financial health. Reporting directly to the General Manager and ownership, this executive will manage the accounting team, develop financial strategies, and serve as a key business partner in driving performance across club operations, F&B, golf, spa, real estate, and member services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of accounting and finance including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for ownership and executive leadership.
- Partner with department heads (Golf, F&B, Spa, Residences, and Membership) to analyze performance, control costs, and identify revenue opportunities.
- Manage cash flow, capital planning, and financial modeling to support long-term growth and property enhancements.
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and relationships with external auditors, banks, and vendors.
- Train, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Provide strategic insights to ownership regarding financial performance, investment opportunities, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within luxury hospitality, private clubs, or high-end residential environments.
- Strong understanding of club accounting, membership models, and real estate/residential financial structures.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present to ownership.
- Proven track record in managing teams, streamlining processes, and implementing financial systems.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the standards of an ultra-luxury brand.
