The Role:

Location: New York City (Onsite – 5 days/week)

Duration: 1-year contract with potential for full-time conversion

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst / Business Manager to join our team. This role is critical in driving financial planning, analysis, and business performance management. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Business Performance Management: Track and report on key financial and operational metrics, providing actionable insights on risks and opportunities.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to assess program performance, vendor spend, and business cases.
  • Reporting & Presentations: Prepare executive-level presentations and management reports that clearly communicate financial results and recommendations.
  • Vendor & Program Management Support: Partner with internal stakeholders to monitor budgets, vendor contracts, and program spend to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide analytical support to senior leaders on financial performance, resource allocation, and business priorities.
  • Culture & Talent Support: Assist leadership in initiatives related to team development, resource planning, and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, business management, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to work with complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial systems/tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and impactful presentations for leadership.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or business management.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
  • Confident, articulate, and comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
