Job Description: Engineering/Construction NY Position Title: Office Engineer Reports To: Assistant Vice President Company: CES Consultants, Inc. (CES) Location: New York, NY and surrounding areas 75% travel to project site. Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview The Office Engineer will be responsible for playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the NYC Department of Design and Construction Water Main/Sewer project, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering information to project managers and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
- Manage and maintain project files, records, and documentation.
- Prepare and submit reports, including progress reports, project status reports, and financial reports.
- Coordinate and track project correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes.
- Assist in the preparation of the project closeout documents and final reports.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Facilitate meetings, including project meetings, progress meetings, and status updates.
- Coordinate, take minutes and write minutes, within three days of technical, progress and other NYCDOT scheduled minutes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Required Skills And Experience
- A baccalaureate degree in engineering from an accredited college.
- Minimum of five years of experience in office engineering/construction inspection of infrastructure projects specifically sewers, water mains, and highways.
- Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Preferred Certifications
- OSHA Safety and Health, 10-hour
- NYCDDC Water Main Inspection Training
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician, Grade I

- Detailed oriented and reliable, while demonstrating a high-level of interpersonal, diplomacy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies and diverse communities; address sensitive and complex questions; handle conflict; and manage various tasks.
