Job Description

The Data Architect position requires a high level ofanalytical and creative skills, along with in-depth knowledge of data systemsand database methodology, design and modeling. The Data Architectwill be responsible for designing logical models for relational andmulti-dimensional data stores and subsequently building the physical databasemodel.The architect definesdata/information architecture standards, processes and data warehouse policiesand procedures. This role facilitates standard business analysis practices andtheir translation into functional technical requirements that are integratedinto the enterprise information system architecture. The Data Architect ensuresenterprise solution development is suitable to achieve consistency ofinformation assets across the application framework.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

Perform source system analysis and meet withbusiness stakeholders in order to create appropriate requirement definitionartifacts.

Work closely with Business Intelligence Analysts, DataAnalysts and Software Developers to ensure customer needs are being met in theareas of reporting and analytics.

Design and develop highly scalable and optimizeddata models, by utilizing modeling software to document and maintain versionsto support Data Marts, Cubes, Data Warehouse, and Operational Data Stores(ODS).

Develop data standards in terms of nomenclature,storage, design and deployments.

Design ETL and ELT guidelines to ensure efficientand accurate data transfer within the entire BI System.

Assist with optimizing source system replicationmodels and operations

Implement a robust data solution using availabledatabase tools.

Design and maintain enterprise meta-data solution tocommunicate data definitions to the BI audience.

Design and develop data quality rules for DataWarehouse and Data Mart solutions to ensure data integrity levels are met.

Research new database technologies and recommendsolutions in order to improve performance, scalability, & storage.

Must be able to communicate timely andeffectively in order to plan and coordinate team resources.

Train, lead, and mentor staff that may includedatabase engineers, data architects, and DBAs

Providing leadership in establishing anddocumenting data standards

Creating and testing database prototypes

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in computer science,information systems or a related field, Masters preferred; or equivalent relevantexperience

Minimum 7 years of experience in computerscience, information systems or a related field, plus several years ofexperience working with major database platforms, such as Microsoft SQL Server,Oracle and IBM DB2.Microsoft SQL Serveris preferred.

Experience with building and maintaining physicaland logical database models

Knowledge of a typical Software Design Lifecycle(SDLC)

Knowledge of Master & Meta data managementtools and techniques

Experience with MS SQL Server and the MS developmentstack

Knowledge of clinical and financial systems withina Healthcare environment desired

Knowledge of Data profiling and data validationtools

Knowledge of Data Matching, Data Monitoring, DataEnrichment & Data Standardization
