Certification Details- Iowa State Nursing License (SING Background Check clearance required).
- Mandatory Reporter Certification (Child and Adult).
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
Job Details- Behavioral Health Registered Nurse position at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
- Role involves working in a Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) with adult patients aged 18-65.
- Patient population includes anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality, and suicidal ideation.
- Position requires 2+ years of experience in Behavioral Health Unit or Psychiatry.
- Shift is 7 PM to 7 AM with 36 or 48 guaranteed weekly hours.
- No call requirements.
- May be required to float within a 25 mile radius of the facility supervisor.
Job Requirements- Must have Iowa SING Background Check cleared including criminal and child abuse portions before start.
- All background checks (counties and states) must be fully cleared prior to start; no instant or statewide searches accepted.
- Mandatory reporter certification required for child and adult.
- Drug test must be 10 panel screening including opiates.
- Titers for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB must be within last 12 months.
- Travel experience required; applications without it will be rejected.
- 2+ years experience in Behavioral Health Unit or Psychiatry required.
- Required education: ADN or BSN.
Schedule Information- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM (night shift).
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 or 48.
- Will allow Monday or Tuesday starts.
- No call requirements.
Unit Specific Information- Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) specializing in adult psychiatric care.
- Patient population includes adults aged 18-65 with anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality, and suicidal ideation.
- Unit has 14 beds with average daily census around 7 patients.
- Patient to nurse ratio is approximately 6:1.
- EHR system used is MediTech.
