Description
Summary: The Marketing & Communications Director will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for the Faith Church marketing team and manage the churchs communication strategies across digital, design, and video platforms. This role will oversee three key departments: the Digital Team (digital marketing, social media, church website, YouTube, and church app), the Graphic Design Team, and the Video Team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and someone with a passion for using communication to advance the churchs mission and connect with the congregation and broader community.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: provide professional leadership, development, and management for the marketing team (digital, design, and video departments). Develop and implement cohesive marketing and communications strategies aligned with the churchs mission and goals; provide vision and direction for marketing campaigns, digital outreach, and creative projects; ensure collaboration across departments for cohesive messaging.
- Digital Team Oversight: collaborate with the Digital Team Director to oversee digital marketing strategy, including website, social media, YouTube channel, and church app. Guide content creation, SEO, social media engagement, digital advertising; track analytics and adjust strategies to increase online engagement and grow the churchs digital footprint.
- Video Team Oversight: supervise the video team, cast vision, and monitor quality for all video content across church channels. Oversee live broadcast production, weekly programs, promotional ads, and related video for Faith Church; ensure pastoral care of employees and volunteers.
- Graphics Team Oversight: lead the graphic design team in creating materials that represent the churchs brand across print and digital platforms. Provide art direction, ensure brand compliance, and maintain consistency with the churchs visual identity; collaborate on promotional materials, event graphics, sermon series branding.
- Creative Team Direction: collaborate with the Lead Pastor, Worship, and Production to ensure excellence in weekend service experiences. Lead planning meetings, coordinate music, video, technical, and creative elements; recruit and enable volunteers; stay current with cultural trends to connect culture with the gospel; lead evaluations to maintain a high standard of excellence; provide thought leadership in creative disciplines.
- Strategy and Innovation: develop and maintain a marketing calendar for digital, design, and video projects. Stay updated on communication trends and technologies; support ministry leaders with their communication needs and promote church events and initiatives; manage the creative process from proofing to finalization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills to guide digital, design, and video teams.
- Expertise in digital marketing strategies (SEO, social media, email campaigns, content optimization).
- Proficiency in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) and video production tools; experience with Premiere Pro and Final Cut.
- Project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple campaigns and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for storytelling and messaging.
- Ability to analyze marketing data and adjust strategies for engagement and growth.
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field (Masters preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or media leadership, preferably in a church or nonprofit environment; experience leading creative teams.
Education & Experience Details
Work includes experience with digital marketing, social media management, SEO, content creation, and familiarity with graphic design software and video production tools. Travel between campuses may be required; some evenings and weekends are expected during peak periods.
Work Environment & Schedule
This job operates in a professional office environment and on filming shoots. The role is largely sedentary but requires activity during events and shoots.
Hours: 40-45 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend events. Schedule may vary with seasons (e.g., Christmas, Easter, strategic planning).
