Who are we hiring?

Director, Event Presentation manages and executes programming and day-to-day operations for in-arena activity. The role spearheads all pre-production efforts related to game execution, including developing and managing programming calendars, game content scripting, directing game day production meetings, and leading the production of all LED signage for in-arena display (GardenVision). The director coordinates all communication between Event Presentation and Producers in GardenVision, executes and leads all in-arena game day rehearsals and programming (live entertainment, video, lighting, projections, etc.), coordinates team promotions, merchandise, events and the food/beverage business via video shoots, scripting of promotions, and securing in-game inventory. The role implements content from across departments for exposure in game programming, and works closely with the MSG Partnerships group to maximize event presentation and partner goals. The Director may assist with production and presentation of team events such as partner functions, subscriber forums, and charity events. The position also collaborates with all MSG departments to develop cross-promotional opportunities for brand elevation during event execution.

Responsibilities
  • Spearheads all pre-production efforts as related to game execution; develops and manages programming calendars, game content scripting, directs game day production meetings, and leads the production of all LED signage for in-arena display (GardenVision).
  • Directs all Rangers games by executing programming.
  • Creates the Run of Show and writes the game scripts for all home games.
  • Maintains a detailed game inventory spreadsheet to ensure no games are oversold.
  • Schedules and leads all aspects of execution for partnership elements in-game.
  • Manages graphics creation process – request, approval and delivery for GardenVision.
  • Creates video project lists, brainstorms ideas, and manages producers and editors' shot sheets and scripting.
  • Liaises with Event Presentation and Producers in GardenVision for all communications.
  • Coordinates internal requests for in-game programming from Marketing, Merchandise, Food/Beverage, MSG Networks, GDF, MSG LIVE, MSG Sports Properties, Community Relations, Alumni Relations; scripts such promotions and secures in-game inventory.
  • Assists with entertainment production for annual events and game production related to out-of-arena venues (Tip-Off Event/Playoff Events).
  • Leads lighting, audio, and entertainment programming for rehearsals in-arena.
  • Assists as contact to NHL for broadcast and entertainment-related coordination.
  • Coordinates In-arena partnership sales including inventory analysis and generating programs for new partners.
  • Works with MSG Networks' TV producer to coordinate broadcast integration with the presentation.
  • Coordinates production of highlight videos for in-arena play; collaborates with vendors for music, highlight plays, scenic shots, crowd shots, and design elements; develops concepts for self-execution and GardenVision guidelines.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience calling live games or events in a sports environment.
  • Proven ability to manage production teams.
  • Well-versed in a wide array of musical knowledge.
  • Vast entertainment industry contacts.
  • Ability to source and act on industry trends.
  • Ability to produce videos and provide clear and creative direction.
  • Strong knowledge of theatrical lighting, music, and live production techniques.
  • Strong communication skills to direct multiple people during event execution.
  • Exceptional computer skills and ability to generate cutting-edge decks and presentations.
  • Ability to lead, especially in directing live events.
  • Ability to communicate with talent, producers, union staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with multiple tasks in a year-round environment.
  • Creativity to maintain a high level of innovation in all operational avenues.
Pay Range

$160,000—$175,000 USD
