The UW Autism Center has an outstanding opportunity for an APEX Program Director to join their team.
POSITION PURPOSE
The APEX Program Director will, under general supervision of the UW Autism Center Director of Clinical Services, work among a team of professionals, including licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, early intervention providers, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows. This position will oversee the operational, educational, clinical, and research components of the APEX Program at the UW Autism Center (UWAC). This position is Full Time (100% FTE). The position requires 100% FTE for the summer months but if an applicant prefers 50% for the academic year (approx. September to June) this can be arranged.
The APEX Program Director position includes supervising the annual APEX Summer Camp, providing clinical services to youth and families, clinical training for graduate and undergraduate students in evidence-based intervention, behavioral support and management, coaching parents and other professionals, and consulting in the community. It also includes program design and implementation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advocacy for children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders.
This position will be responsible for supporting a high-profile clinical program which provides treatment for autistic and neurodivergent children and siblings. The candidate must be aware of current research and new treatment approaches and be able to integrate multi-disciplinary reports and recommendations into clinical decisions and treatment planning. The APEX Program Director will also provide parent education and training within the context of existing clinical programming & will support the recruitment and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students annually, including local, national, and international students, as well as faculty and other master\'s and doctoral-level professionals to serve the APEX Summer Camp program. This position will also have supervision of one salaried APEX Program Support Lead.
