OPS Receptionist - 50509484

The incumbent will be responsible for handling front office reception and administrative duties, which include assisting the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties. Handles cash and assists with resident meal funds. The incumbent is expected to remain calm in emergency situations and be capable of using an overhead PA system for announcements.

The duties include:

  • Greeting visitors to the facility in a courteous manner
  • Providing limited information to the general public regarding services rendered at the State Veterans' Nursing Home
  • Answering and routing incoming and in-house calls
  • Taking and delivering accurate messages to appropriate staff members in a timely fashion
  • Maintaining order in the reception area: providing magazines and other reading material to visitors as well as residents
  • Ensuring adequate lighting and comfortable room temperatures are maintained within the reception area
  • Ensuring at all times Residents' Rights as well as resident confidentiality is protected
  • Preparing letters, reports, forms and other documents, assuring that they are accurate and timely
  • Delivering medication received via the mail immediately to the respective section
  • Assisting families and visitors with meal receipts, and with the purchasing of meals
  • Coordinating mail flow in and out of the office, along with collecting and distributing parcels
  • Performing basic bookkeeping, filing, cash handling and clerical duties
  • Performing other routine office duties as instructed by supervisor
