Responsibilities and qualifications are described below. This role involves preparing the overall 3D model design (Layout) of turbo compressors Datum and RF designs (legacy Dresser-Rand compressor), managing engineering data to create models, drawings and BOMs using Siemens NX, Globus Teamcenter, Turbo-SEL, JIRA and SAP. Collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines is required to complete a compressor design ready for detail drawings and manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and create 3D models based on the requirements of the as-sold compressor design, addressing deviations or issues in consultation with relevant subject areas.
  • Interpret and apply compressor design standards for the layout design of components.
  • Prepare models to generate detailed drawings using Siemens NX integrated with Globus Teamcenter, while managing project BOMs and Jira cards for manufacturing readiness.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and ensure quality, timely delivery of engineering models according to project schedules.
  • Perform issue resolution and failure analysis, preparing root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
  • Take initiatives to improve personal and process efficiency while upholding core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business.
What You Bring
  • Associate degree in Technical Drafting or a comparable design engineering field preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant compressor design experience. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
  • Proficient in automation tools, Globus Teamcenter, Jira, and SAP, with a strong understanding of turbo machinery components. Experience with TSEL/DSEL (Turbo select) knowledge is a plus. Siemens NX is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes, welding principles, and materials, including GD&T and detailed drawing standards.
  • Proven ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively within a global team.
  • High flexibility and a proactive problem solver, with the ability to engage with interface partners effectively.

This job may be based in Olean or Painted Post, New York. The base salary range for this position in Olean or Painted Post, New York is $75,000-$90,000. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individuals qualifications.
