Position Overview
Upwardly Global seeks an experienced nonprofit marketing leader with expertise in social media strategy, online fundraising and paid campaigns. The role balances technical expertise, data analysis and creative storytelling to optimize digital channels that engage audiences and drive action through campaigns that integrate graphic design, video and copy.
This role requires a hands-on and enthusiastic approach – you will brainstorm ad copy as well as write an SEO strategy. You will lead and mentor a small in-house digital team, including a graphic designer, and collaborate with the Director of Communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy:
- Oversee digital marketing strategy to maximize audience engagement and action across social media and email marketing, website content (SEO and landing pages), and paid ad campaigns for job seeker recruitment, fundraising and brand awareness.
- Develop and maintain our content strategy ensuring brand consistency across channels, in partnership with the Director of Communications.
- Develop and implement digital campaigns, including influencer and UGC content strategies.
- Drive a creative, multichannel approach to storytelling, managing and commissioning graphic design, photography and video content.
- Evaluate and adapt channels as organizational needs and digital trends evolve.
- Content:
- Co-lead development of audience personas.
- Write, edit and commission creative content, including ad copy, website content, blog posts and emails.
- Manage development of social media toolkits for external partners.
- Develop co-marketing campaigns with corporate and institutional partners.
- Champion staff-generated UGC to promote the brand and expertise.
- Collaborate with the in-house products team to market and promote products and services.
- Leadership & Management:
- Oversee content development and maintain a content calendar.
- Oversee relationship with external digital marketing agency and determine longer-term team staffing.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure organizational goals are met through marketing tactics.
- Supervise and mentor a team of two staff and external consultants.
- Track and analyze marketing metrics with the Director of Communications to measure effectiveness and improve strategies.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in digital marketing in the nonprofit sector.
- Passion for the mission and for immigrant, refugee and asylum seeker workforce inclusion.
- Proven experience managing six-figure-plus ad campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn and Google.
- Expertise in designing and implementing email acquisition and drip campaigns for multiple segments.
- Proven ability creating and running online fundraising campaigns; peer-to-peer fundraising experience desired.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with ability to handle multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong proficiency in Google Analytics, Pardot, and Salesforce; familiarity with Sprout, Classy and Wordpress or similar platforms.
- Experience mentoring a collaborative marketing team.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Requires the ability to travel regionally and nationally; travel up to 10%.
- Must be available to occasionally work evening events when needed.
Salary Range & Benefits
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. Benefits include paid time off policy, hybrid or remote work schedule, medical/dental/vision insurance, short-term disability insurance, life insurance and retirement plan with employer match.
- Central Region: $125,000 - $145,000 USD per year
- Western/Eastern Region: $135,000 - $155,000 USD per year
