A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Mainframe Engineer position.

Job Description

This role involves full-cycle software development—requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment—focused on maintaining and enhancing legacy systems while integrating with modern technologies.

You will apply your programming expertise to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to triage and resolve operational issues are essential. This position includes rotating on-call support to ensure 24x7 application availability.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in software development
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, DB2, z/OS
• Experience with CICS, VSAM, MQ, and batch processing
• Familiarity with modern integration tools (Kafka, APIs)
• Strong documentation and Agile communication skills
• Experience in decommissioning mainframe components

Work Environment

• Embedded within an existing team to support ongoing operations
• Agile, collaborative, and fast-paced setting
• Close coordination with infrastructure and security teams

Pay Range and Benefits

Pay Range

• 55-60 per hour
• Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
