Overview

Hybrid role in Midtown NYC. Base salary range is $165-175K.

Reporting to the SVP of Technology, the Head of IT Infrastructure is a key leadership role in enabling and maintaining a stable, scalable, and secure infrastructure ecosystem while ensuring that our business and customer data is protected and available. This position oversees Corporate Infrastructure, Cloud Services, Network and Telecom Services, Service Desk, Event Technology, and End User platforms to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure operations across the organization.

The Head of IT Infrastructure is a hybrid role that combines strategic infrastructure design and team leadership with hands-on technical work, and the ability to assist in all areas of infrastructure and escalate when needed. This role is responsible for the administration, implementation, and oversight of IT Infrastructure strategies aligned with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the company's IT Infrastructure and Operations teams, focusing on delivering reliable services and strategies to support business objectives.
  • Manage and provide hands-on support for the implementation and maintenance of core IT systems/services, on-premise and in third-party hosting locations or clouds (compute, storage, endpoints, data access and transformation platforms).
  • Identify technical, performance and reliability gaps by monitoring service performance and proactively recommending projects to remediate issues.
  • Establish and maintain IT infrastructure strategy execution including standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Set goals and service/operational metrics; ensure they are collected, reviewed, and reported regularly.
  • Ensure robust disaster recovery plans to maintain operations during emergencies.
  • Partner with Information Security to align infrastructure with cybersecurity standards and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to align Infrastructure and Operations with Organization and IT Department strategies.
  • Ensure cost-effective design, development, integration, implementation, testing, and maintenance of new services, equipment, and systems; ensure third parties align with internal processes.
  • Manage IT infrastructure projects using change management best practices; ensure delivery on time, scope, and budget.
  • Actively manage relationships with third parties to meet SLAs and deliver on support/performance expectations as an IT team extension.
  • Support a collaborative culture that values technical depth, accountability, and customer service.
Experience & Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of progressive IT experience in infrastructure, network, and end-user services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep technical expertise in modern hosting, computing, storage, and data delivery platforms.
  • Experience defining and implementing IT control frameworks and security practices, including data privacy and access controls.
  • Proven ability to integrate and optimize solutions using SaaS platforms.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of IT architecture, cloud engineering (Azure), virtualization, and modern workplace technologies (e.g., Microsoft 365); working knowledge of MS Azure required.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) including Service Desk, Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Proven success in stability and resiliency programs, including incident response and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Experience managing IT department budgets, vendor relationships, and staff recruitment.
  • Experience with managed service providers and SaaS platforms (e.g., SiteCore, Salesforce, WordPress) is a plus.
  • Understanding of Azure Well-Architected Framework preferred.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure trends, distributed architectures, and cloud computing.
  • Exposure to automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with leadership and team members; ability to provide hands-on guidance for project delivery.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications such as Azure, AWS, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco or other similar credentials are preferred.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong team building, organizational, and staff development skills.
  • High initiative and decision-making based on industry best practices.
  • Ability to articulate IT issues and recommendations in non-technical terms.
  • Excellent analytical, time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills; deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
  • Experience creating and maintaining system documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Azure environments; AWS experience is a plus.
  • Experience with network and infrastructure security platforms (e.g., Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Cloudflare, Zscaler) is a plus.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud storage solutions for Marketing/Content Management (e.g., Nasuni, QNAP) is a plus.
  • Experience running IT Service Desk functions and developing ITSM platforms (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow) for KPI reporting.
  • Experience managing mixed PC and Mac environments; familiarity with conferencing room systems (Polycom/Crestron) and hybrid meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom) is a plus.
Pay & Benefits

The pay range for this position is $165,000 - $175,000 per year.
