This role offers a unique leadership opportunity within the Commercial team at Taiho Oncology Inc. As a Regional Business Director (RBD), you will guide and develop the Oncology Account Managers (OAM) in your region, promoting Taiho Oncology Inc's approved product line to external customers and driving visibility and impact within the organization. The RBD will leverage their experience with key oncology customers and accounts in the Northeast region to drive business success and will reside within the Northeast Region.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading the assigned region in sales of Taiho Oncology's approved products. The RBD reports to the Sr. National Sales Director (SNSD) and leads a team of Oncology Account Managers. The RBD will define key account strategies and sales activities in a defined geographical area, engage with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Operations), and develop short- and long-term business plans to meet customer needs. The RBD will hire, train, and motivate a group of Oncology Account Managers.

Performance Objectives
  • Manages a region of Oncology Account Managers representing the Taiho Oncology Inc. brand vision and strategy.
  • Recruits, selects, and develops individuals to achieve competitive superiority in the market.
  • Ensures superior execution of the business brand strategy within the region by translating strategy into region-specific goals, objectives, and business plans considering geography, payer landscape, and customer mix.
  • Proactively develops, reviews, and modifies the regional business plan.
  • Interprets and communicates complex data to develop communication strategies to drive performance and productivity at the territory level.
  • Identifies and secures necessary resources and capital to facilitate alignment with matrix team members to execute the regional plan.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key contacts and opinion leaders across the customer base (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, etc.).
  • Develops contingency plans and makes tradeoff decisions in support of strategic priorities.
  • Leads change within the organization and ensures alignment around changes.
  • Manages the region's operational and brand product budget and allocates resources accordingly.
  • Sets specific, measurable objectives and tracks performance data against these metrics.
  • Creates a selling culture differentiating our products through deep scientific and therapeutic expertise.
  • Meets sales goals using approved materials and programs.
  • Holds self and team accountable for business results and the Taiho Oncology mission.
  • Serves as a role model for corporate compliance and ensures region-wide adherence to the TOI Compliance Code of Conduct, Policies, Procedures, and applicable laws.
Education/Certification Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in science and/or business-related discipline, or the equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience in oncology sales.
  • Minimum 3+ years' oncology sales management experience.
  • Working knowledge of geographic conditions and customer base.
  • Understanding of environmental and industry trends and their impact on business.
  • Top performance in field sales and field sales management.
  • Experience building and leading diverse teams.
  • Cross-functional experience (e.g., marketing, access, medical).
  • Ability to formulate effective business plans and contribute to geographic or product strategy.
  • Strong interpersonal and executive-level communication skills.
  • Ability to engage high-level customers and decision makers.
  • Positive, flexible, proactive attitude.
  • General understanding of oncology and the cancer care delivery macro-environment.
  • Understanding of oncology reimbursement, including orals, and the payer segment.
  • Experience addressing oncology access issues with external customers.
  • Learning agility to acquire product and disease knowledge for effective customer communications.
  • Travel: 25-49%

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $216,750 - $255,000 annually. This range reflects market data for similar roles. Base pay offered may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include annual bonus, long-term incentives, discretionary awards, and a broad benefits program (including 401(k) and various paid time off). Details will be provided with an offer.

If hired, the employee will be in an “at-will” position and the company reserves the right to modify compensation and/or programs at any time, including for performance, department performance, or market factors.
