Role location: Shanghai, China.

Role

As a R&D director, you are primarily responsible for leading the development of novel filtration products/technologies that enable the future manufacturing of therapeutic biopharmaceuticals, especially in virus filtration processes.

You will lead technology and product development efforts to deliver future filtration technologies for a wide range of bioprocessing applications, especially in virus filtration applications. Activities include analyzing problems, evaluating new technologies, equipment, and concepts, devising a technical path forward, scaling up the manufacturing process, and commercializing new products.

You will work collaboratively with different functions within and outside of the company.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering or related field. PhD degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in R&D, process development, within bioprocessing or life sciences.
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership roles with cross-functional team oversight.
  • Proven experience with development and/or manufacturing of virus filtration devices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have demonstrated a strong fundamental understanding of science/engineering principles, especially related to filtration devices. Knowledge of filtration, filtration products and processes, and applications would be a plus.
  • Have a track record of innovation and success in the execution of technology or product development projects. Demonstrate proficiency in designing and executing experiments in laboratory and/or production settings with a cross functional project team.
  • Must possess an extensive knowledge of laboratory practices, environmental health and safety regulations, and other applicable regulations.
  • Skilled in designing experiments, interpreting data, and proposing the next steps based on the outcomes of the experiments. Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE) would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex design and transfer activities. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
