Anne Arundel County Government is looking to fill a Full-Time, Permanent Associate Director (Recreation and Parks Operations Administrator) position in the Department of Recreation and Parks.
This is a responsible supervisory and administrative position in managing and administering operational programs for the Department of Recreation and Parks.
NATURE AND VARIETY OF WORKWork involves responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the internal support functions of the Department of Recreation and Parks, including budget development and oversight, human resources management, procurement, finance, departmental communications, and special projects administration. Work includes responsibility for the administration of planning, development, and department-wide execution of the tasks needed to execute the departmental responsibilities of the Department of Recreation and Parks.
This employee is responsible for policy and procedure development for their assigned area of responsibility. Employees in this class supervise directly or through subordinate supervisors, employees of the Department's operational divisions, including marketing and events, capital projects, and business management. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general direction of the Deputy Director, Recreation and Parks, and is reviewed through conferences and reports.

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business administration or a related field.
Experience: Six (6) or more years of experience in the administration, management, and financial operation of a large municipal department, including four (4) or more years of supervisory experience; and a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
