Department Summary:As one of the largest pediatric genetics practices in the country, we have experience with both common conditions and very rare conditions affecting just a few hundred children in the world. We specialize in finding answers for complex and hard-to-diagnose genetic conditions, sometimes applying new technologies through our research labs when existing genetic tests are negative or inconclusive.As an Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor you will supervise, perform and oversee administrative functions within genetics, including preparing and monitoring genetics operating and capital budgets, maintaining supply and equipment inventory and developing and implementing administrative procedures and systems.Key Responsibilities:
  • Select, train, supervise, and evaluate the unit's non-clinical support staff. Develop and implement work schedules and delegate assignments to meet unit operations and coverage requirements. Conduct annual performance appraisals, monitor and evaluate employee job performance, provide guidance and feedback, and initiate disciplinary and other personnel actions as warranted.
  • Evaluate the Program's space needs. Oversee clinician schedules and create physician templates to ensure appropriate room utilization and resource allocation. Monitor and coordinate any facility issues affecting operations. Recommend efficiency improvements to the Practice Administrator.
  • Purchase daily medical and office supply needs through established Hospital protocols to ensure efficient patient care. Monitor supply inventory/budgeting and identify and communicate trends to support cost containment and ensure appropriate use of supplies.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by providing positive and effective customer service. Monitor and assess management and operations for patient satisfaction. Recommend and implement improvements to service.
  • Provide non-clinical orientation programs for unit staff. Ensure all Program personnel are trained in Hospital policies and procedures, as well as in the Hospital's information systems, including follow-up training and consultations. Ensure compliance with third-party regulations and requirements related to proper documentation, coding, and charge entry processes for program clinical services.
  • Participate in the unit leadership group and assist in the development and implementation of unit-based programs. Communicate and work with management and staff of other hospital departments in coordinating needed purchasing, maintenance, and repair services.
  • Minimum QualificationsEducation:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience with lightning bolt preferred.
  • Experience building templates for provider schedules preferred.
