Duties and Responsibilities The Motorist Services (MS) Analyst I in the Bureau of Motorist Services Support, Quality Assurance (QA) Program is essential in meeting the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' (FLHSMV) statutory directive and strategic goals by working to strengthen the integrity of driver license and motor vehicle issuance offices throughout the state. This position will work independently in a project-oriented position that serves to protect the citizens of Florida by ensuring accurate issuance of driver license and motor vehicle credentials through quality assurance, monitoring, compliance, and support activities as well as working to strengthen and support partnerships with Tax Collectors and other government and private organizations partnering with FLHSMV. As a candidate for this position, you will be responsible for identifying possible weaknesses, recommending changes and enhancements, and working with management to resolve potential issues. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skill in using the Florida Driver License Information System (FDLIS)/Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION) and/or Florida Real-time Information System (FRVIS).
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection, analysis, and organization.
  • Skill in understanding and applying applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to determine compliance with Motorist Services program standards.
  • Skill in conducting research, evaluating data, and developing recommendations.
  • Skill in planning, coordinating, and managing multiple work assignments with varied deadlines.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving and decision-making techniques.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
  • Preference will be given to applicants with skills in Microsoft Excel and at least 5 years of experience in FDLIS/ORION and/or FRVIS.
Job-Related Requirements
  • The applicant selected for this position must be experienced in issuing driver licenses and/or motor vehicle titles or registrations through the Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION)/Florida Driver License Information System (FDLIS) and/or Florida Realtime Vehicle Information System (FRVIS).
  • This position may require alternate work hours or days, and travel based upon Department need. Occasional overnight travel is also required.
  • In accordance with F.S. 322, the selected applicant must possess a valid Class E or higher driver's license; not learner's license and be at least 21 years of age. Selected applicants must have no cancellations, suspensions, or revocations of the driving privilege for a minimum of three (3) years prior to employment and must also maintain a driving record with no more than three (3) chargeable motor vehicle crash or any violation defined in Chapter 316, Florida Statutes during any consecutive (3) year period of employment.

General Information
  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI's Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
